Windows 8.1 Login Animation

Hi everybody, I've just installed Windows 8.1 on my new computer, which I've assembled.

I noticed that in the login, when it's shown the photo, when I press space, enter, left mouse or whatever there's no animation (photo goes up and shows the username and password), unless I just drag the image up which, of course, it's not the best thing to do on a desktop PC. What could I do? This thing is driving me crazy.

 

PS: I've already tried sfc /scannow...

How do I make mine do that. I wish we could swap, that stupid sliding animation does my head in! it just delays the time before i can put my password in.

Ahahah, i like it instead! I even run 144Hz, so it's smoothy btw I don't know what's happening, I just found out that this happens only when I'm not logged in...

To remove the slide up screen (lock screen), Go to the registry to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization

Then create a new DWORD, name it NoLockScreen, and set it to 1. Restart the system.

You should be set.

@GoodBytes Actually I want to have it, and I think maybe it'd work if I create it and i set it to 0... the only thing is that I can't find the personalization folder

Oh sorry. I forgot to mention. You need to create the key (folder), "Personalization".

I usually disable the lock screen. Saves some time, looks nicer too.
