BeQuiet! Pure Wings 2 is what I was going to get (for my exhaust rear intake in my H440 actually)....until I saw that they were out of stock everywhere.

Corsair Blue LED AF140, Bitfenix Spectre Pros, and Rosewill Hyperboreas also crossed my mind. (The Corsair fans less for silence and more for aesthetics)

They will be used as exhaust fans for the H440. I'm in the U.S. Not worried about price that much unless they are unreasonably priced haha.

If price really isn't an issue, I'd recommend getting Silent Wings 2's. You could otherwise go with NF-s12b redux's.

Both LED AF140's and Spectre Pros are far from quiet.

Where do you even find those silent wings 2? I looked on Amazon and they were 60 bucks!

They've been recently out of stock at newegg but should hopefully come back soon. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V21E0612&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Any idea how Pure Wings/Silent wings (at 7v) compare to AF140 (at 7v)?

Both LED and non-LED versions

Pure Wings are basically lower end Silent Wings but still similar. SW2's are one of the quietest fans available.

Non-LED AF140's are quieter than LED AF140's. AF140's can be quiet at low speeds but the LED variant has a louder hum due to the plastics used.

AF140 QE's are average at best in respect to the 'quiet fan' market.

So if AF140QE's are average -- which is what I've always heard, and why I still haven't gotten any Corsair fans -- what would they be equivalent to -- noise level-wise at 7v? Like Hyperborea's? I'd like to get my computer as quiet as possible, but would rather not spend the $25~ that the Silent Wings cost.

Hyperborea's are a bit quieter. For anything that isn't a rad/heatsink, I'd suggest going with NF-s12b redux's.

It's the rear exhaust/intake for my H440, so it has to be black/blue -- I'd consider going with Hyperboreas when they eventually go on sale. The AF140QE is a bit tempting though for looks and because it comes with a fan resistor -- even though I could buy/make one for less money, but still.

If you really can't bear the grey redux color, it's a toss up between Hyperborea and AF140 QE's if looks are also in question.

so would you always go with a NFs12 for airflow even when you can put a NF P14 instead?

It depends on where they are used. NF-s12b's have similar airflow to NF-P14's but are a bit quieter despite the difference in fan size.

I really wish Noctua released a 140mm NF-s14 fan.

Try getting non LED, they are quiet.

They're average at best compared to actual quiet fans.
