Looking for Mechanical Keyboard

Go to solution Solved by STRMfrmXMN,

Its not hard when I have to type only normal letters like you and me use but we have some extra ones that are on alphanumerical side and you also have to use key combinations to get some as they are not default on the keyboard and some of these are not used often so I often forget where is for example ˇ key if I want to type ď or ŕ ... i can type without looking if I type in english mostly or if I am not using diacritic in my own language.

I suggest checking out the thread in my sig to make sure that browns are what you actually want. There's a quiz in there to help you out. Beware of the lightness of browns though because going from a membrane to browns is a toughie.

Anyways, here's a few browns.

This one here has a tenkeypad but it's also intertwined with arrow keys. Smart design I must say: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-keyboard-sgk4020gkcm3us

There's a handful of options if browns are what you really want.

Hi, I am looking for mechanical keyboard. I never touched one and I have nowhere to try it and feel how different switches feel so after long researching I decided to go with brown switches. I always used and still use membrane keyboard and red seemed like a good option at first but I think that tactile feedback from browns will be good thing to have. Problem is that I dont know which keyboard to pick as I never followed reviews on them and basicaly did not care about them at all before.

It should cost less than 100€ (the cheaper the better). I dont care about macro keys but if it has them I wont mind, same with media keys. It has to be backlighted either with blue or red color and it doesent have to be RGB. It must have antighosting and if it had N-Key Rollover it would be great but it is not required if the price will be too high because of it. Also it has to have NUM keys. I will shop from heureka.sk (you can use that site to check prices or just suggest me keyboard and I will check for my self).

If you want to look into key switches more cooler master have a cherry mx sampler you can get pretty cheap.

That one looks good. It says taht brown switches have white backlight though but that is not bad either.

It would be great to have but the fact that most MK cost close to 100€ would mean that this would get me over budget.. and 100€ is the worst case scenario I am willing to go for. It is not that I dont have more to spend I just think its is a lot already and I still plan on getting new chair and GPU.

CM Quickfire Stealth, Cherry-MX Brown. If you can find it on sale, I'd highly recommend it...

Edit: Nevermind, it doesn't have the NUM-PAD, or a backlit keyboard as you've requested.  <_<

It looks good but when I look at CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate and compare the prices they are both the same price. I like the letters on the side of the keys though. If it was backlighted I would probably get it even if it had no NUM pad but at evening backlight is prety important to me.

It looks like I will go with the CM Ultimate after all.

I can feel ya there...

Those long late nights in the dark can be irritating; especially if you can't type without looking.

I can only halftype without looking. I need to look at the keyboard from time to time. When I type without looking I use backspace a lot :D Usualy when I need to type special characters of which there is a lot of them in my language.

Dude, just learn to touchtype. Seriously, it's not that hard, it's more of a time thing and it will improve your typing speed a lot!

Thanks man. This really helped me a lot. Even in quiz I got brown switches and after watching that video it even more convinced me about browns. Since membrane is the only thing I ever used it doesent mean I like it better just that I dont know any better, so even if reds may be something to have simmilar experience with I would still appretiate tactile feedback.

I decided on http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-keyboard-sgk4020gkcm3uswhich you suggested as I found it for good price (80€). Also it looks minimalistic and smaller than most keyboards which is good because I dont have much space on my desk and my current keboard fits my desk just so so without bumping into things around.

Glad I could help! Enjoy your new keyboard!

EDIT: @WereCat, just beware of currency of your location. I sent you to the United States PCPartPicker which I imagine is the wrong one for you because of currency.

That's all. Just use the PCPartPicker for the proper location to make sure that you can find it.
