4.8 is quite high for an 4790k I would leave it for a day or two of normal gaming/use to see if it is truly stable as a 30 mins test is not long enough. 12+ hours of a test is req.

True, I definitely should. By the way, my temps are actually staying under 70c during Cinebench, mostly, I just got a score of 901 since I had chrome and other stuff running, but my highest score is 949.

Maybe I was typing correctly and I just broke a NDA of Intel's by mentioning a new CPU... *shifty eyes*聽

Haha that would be silly, since the 5820k would be this generation's improvement of the current archiecture. If i'm correct, the next new batch of CPUs should have a different architecture. Tell me if I'm wrong.

My experience with 4790k overclocks.聽 I thought everything was stable with 4.7 GHZ at 1.270 core voltage and kept it this way for 3 months.聽 Played BF4 & FC4 without any crashes.聽 Then one day for shits and giggles, I ran Aida 64 and heaven Benchmark at the same time and it crashed within 10 minutes.聽 I then decided I wanted it rock solid and ran multiple tests using the same method of crashing it the first time (Aida 64 and Heaven聽simultaneously) and slowly increasing the core voltage an extra 0.005.聽 I finally hit 1.285 Core Voltage @ 4.7 GHz and ran Aida 64 along with Heaven and has not crashed in over 24 hours of stress testing.聽

I have a potato!

Wow I thought I took my time overclocking. Mine was stable at 1.3v flat in Aida64 for about 10 minutes, and I didn't have time to test more, so for the time being I'm at 1.315 just to be sure since the temps are perfectly fine. I'll do a test tonight, I'll just have to stand not being able to use it. SERIOUS QUESTION. Aida64 temps, (stressing CPU, FPU and Cache) the temps I've seen max out around 80, one core even hit 83, but it's only spikes. The temps avg is around 72-78 though. Is that safe if I'm stressing it for so many hours?
