There probably won't be any news until AMD's 300 series comes out. It's always a price war, always.

they won't release anything until AMD releases their new cards.

I would think maybe a 980ti would come 6 months from now, but I think a 960ti will be coming first. The performance gap between the 960 and 970 is huge.

GTX 970 Ti 4GB? I kid, I'd imagine the next release will be a GTX 960 Ti as a further cut down GM204 with 3GB on a 192 bit bus as there is still a huge hole to fill between the GTX 960 and GTX 970 pricewise. If AMD is still months away from releasing the R9 380x they're probably better off selling the GTX 980 for $550-$650 as their top card. Then when AMD can exert enough pressure to make GTX 980 prices fall they can release the true high-end Maxwell.

My guess would be that they release a Titan 2 with a GM200 core and some SMMs disabled, then when the 1000 series launches they release a 1080 Ti wth a full GM200. It's the same thing they did with 600 and 700 series and the original Titan.

Does anybody know if the EVGA GTX 970 is worth it or should I get a lower tier GPU??

Either a 970 or an R9 290/x. It depends how important power consumption is to you.

If you were going to get a 970 before all the news occurred, then still go with it as the performance hasn't changed. The only reason to not get a GTX970 is because you don't want to support Nvidia.

most likely. even still, a 192 bit bus 960Ti with 3GB Ram would be biting at the heels of a 970, but that depends on the core/SMM count I guess.

Will they ever release their highly speculated GTX 980Ti 8GB or a GTX 990 in response to AMDs soon to be released 3XX series?

Or will they push another Titan (TITAN X)?

Discuss?

There can only be one Titan. if there are 2, they must duel to the death.

You mean release another grill *cough* video card *cough*

I can't take amd cards (the new ones) seriously. They make you waste a fucking fan slot for a radiator (lowering your overall case air flow), still run at extremely high temps, overclock like shit, and still worse than a g1 970 (best amd card vs a g1 970 (mine is at 1650mhz at a stable 60c)

They are chances that they are waiting for AMD reply for the 980.

This is usually the case. The problem with this for us, is that we need to wait for AMD. But eventually Nvidia gives up and release their product regardless.

Same is true when the situation is the reverse, where it is AMD waiting for Nvidia.
