Hello everyone, though I have had computer experience before I'm going to consider this my first PC build. For a long time now I've wanted to get into PC gaming for the fan favorites like ArmA and WoW. I have posted on other websites but they haven't been too helpful and I was hoping that you guys could help me out. A friend of mine helped me put together a build for my budget in the $500 to $700 price range. This is the build:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($166.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($83.98 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($61.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card  ($129.98 @ NCIX US)
Case: NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($51.99 @ Micro Center)
Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($34.99 @ Newegg)
Monitor: BenQ GW2255 60Hz 21.5" Monitor  ($119.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $725.06
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-01-25 14:28 EST-0500

I'm shooting for being able to play ArmA and similar games on Medium or higher settings. I was hoping to get some feedback on what you guys think. I know the monitor is making the PC go over my budget but I was going to wait for the PC parts to go on sale to get them cheaper so the monitor will fit in my budget, and I already have an OS that I can use.

its pretty good, but do you really want that GPU, its old.  i would lose the CPU cooler since you wont be doing any overclocking and get the new 960 if you can afford it, or an r9 270

Actually, I'd keep that CPU cooler, as it's inexpensive, and not exactly designed for overclocking.  Plus, it'll keep his CPU way cooler under load than the stock intel garbage.

So are you saying that the 660 won't do the job or are you saying that I should just get something more modern?

no, it does not. its still a present gpu in the 1080p gaming department... but with the release of directx 12 as @Antibull says will make it even more outdated

While it is better it's 40 bucks over his budget (or 15 bucks over his friend's build).

Let's hope he can afford it :P

Get something more modern, the 660 isn't very good anymore.  I'd go for at least a 760, or an R9 285.

A bit over the price, but I would go for this and add HDD later (because you need to install the OS on SSD to load faster and you will have space for some games until you get HDD).
