The E6600 is LGA775, Z97 is LGA1150

 

Only Haswell Celerons, Pentiums, i3s, i5s, i7s, and Xeon E3s are supported on Z97.

Other than the obvious answer being no as it's a different socket entirely. A good way to check for compatible CPUs is check the CPU compatibility list on the manufacturers web page.
