No one can really tell when or if it is going to be fixed however it really only affects performance at high resolutions like 4k. 1080p and 1440p will be perfectly fine and not bottlenecked.

Honestly, 3.5 GB Vram is perfectly sufficient for the card anyway. Buy away. I still wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Just because people realized that the card has slightly less usable VRAM doesn't suddenly invalidate all those great benchmarks.

Yo bro, did you know that your "1TB HD" actually only has 9XX~ish GBs of storage? Yet, do you make a fuss about it?

No. Just as no one should make a fuss about this 3.5gb issue (which is poorly exaplined, btw..)

This is a poor comparison to the problem. It has always been the case the 1TB drives aren't, or 2TB or whatever drives have ever been in the history of hard drives. It's not the case when your game comes to a crawl because it can't use the RAM it says it has. It's a bug, a flaw, and a problem for those that bought these cards. Don't be an ahole "bro".

I think it depends on whether you plan on buying another one to SLI. You are basically buying a 3.5gb card. I'm also more suspicious that the 256 bit bus could be a bigger issue in future titles than some people are willing to admit.

If you have a case with good airflow and a good PSU I would probably opt for a 290x. You have a 512 gb memory bus AND an extra half gig of VRAM, making the card more future proof, and the 290x can usually be found for less than the 970. In some cases its cheaper enough that you can use the extra money saved to buy a better PSU and case for crossfire down the road.

Actually they should. If it acted like it only had 3.5gb that would be dandy. But no, once you pass that the game goes to shit and you really have no way of making sure it wont pass that unless you have the settings so it doesnt go near even 3gb, which is bs.

Also hdd have "less" space than advertised because HDD manufactures see 1MB as 1000KB. But Windows and other OSes see 1MB as 1024KB. And when you buy a hdd you know its not exactly 1tb, when you buy a 4gb gpu, you expect it to be 4gb.. Not 3.5, not 3.5 and .5 gimped.

I have a feeling that you may not be this relaxed about this problem if this was an Amd product.
