Hey guys, I am thinking of switching out my G3258 for a i5 4690 not the "K" or "X". I have the money but seeing that I am 13 I don't know if my parents want me spending more money on my 2 month old PC. Also if I were to do this I would switch out the case, the N400 is shit. There is no way to cable manage with a unmodular PSU. So I am thinking of getting the Corsair SPEC 03, I was originally going to get that, but I seeing that I could get a R9 280 by cutting money out of the case I went for it! Regrets, not on the GPU, on the Case. I should've just got the Corsair no matter what, anyway parents need a new computer so who know, they could have it with the G3258 maybe.

Anyway what do you think of getting the i5, good idea or should I just wait a bit, wear my G3258 out?

Main PC/Gaming PC - G3258 @ 4.0GHz | Sapphire R9 280 3gb | 2x4GB Kingston Fury HyperX Blue 1600Mhz RAM | ASRock H97M Anniversary | x2 Seagate Barracuda 1tb | Coolermaster N400 Windowed | EVGA 600B 600W PSU | Windows 8

Keyboard, Mouse etc. - Razer Blackwidow Expert 2014 Green Switches | Logitech G502 Mouse | Logitech G430 Headset | Logitech C920 Webcam |

Screens - Acer K27HL | Acer S23HL | 32" Full HD TV (Don't know brand) |

An OCed G3258 is good for the 280, but if there is another PC to build use it ( with the case and psu) and get the I5,

Well in some games I do get some bad drops for <2 seconds, from like 150fps to 30 in 1 second. other than that not really, besides being able to play games happily like Watch_Dogs and GTA 5 when it comes out

Why don't you get a modular PSU instead of a new case? Much less work.

The i5 would be a good upgrade, but are you unsatisfied with the performance right now?

In general this case is a shithole, Hard drive facing into the PSU, no cable manage holes and the worst part is when I got the parts for this system I came home, looked at the case and realised the entire front of it was bent and scratched for whatever reason, the company wouldn't take it back due to "It was my fault".. ffs

100% sure that it is the CPU ?, I would wait for the new CPU gen to come out, and then buy the 4690(k) because prices will be dropping then

Yeah my friend has this GPU, nothing wrong in his games with the i5 4690k, he has never gotten a massive drops in frames. Also that is a good point about waiting until next CPU gen to come out, also apparently there is a new i5 coming.. just heard from someone
