title explains it all. asking this because i've been an avid iphone user. last time i used an android was a motorola atrix. it was very slow and crashed alot. then i used my mom's phone (s3) and it was also slow. so my experiences with it was meh. i was wondering how it is now? because after a while i might be planning to get a zenfone 2 or the modular phone that google is planning if it ever comes out. they both are running android.

is it slow as the os on the s3 and my atrix? would i need more time to clear the cache of every app like i did on my old phone?

thanks :)

Not too impressed with Lollipop; I find it's clunky and slow.

Stick with iOS if Android was giving you problems. If you were having problems with a device like a S3 (which is relatively fast) than you won't be able to figure out a newer phone since it's far to complicated.

Frankly lolipop sucks, but I'm sick of iOS8...

Android is good if you have nfc defvices or support beam streaming.

Really, I find it to be a small improvement over Kitkat. Unless your running an official version then that might explain whyI

You can't really compare Gingerbread to KitKat / Lollipop.  There have been massive improvements.  It's my opinion that both iOS and Android have their quirks, but stability shouldn't be a reason to choose one or the other.  All personal preference.

I hated touch wiz, switched to a Nexus because of it.

i Use cyanogen mod xD  so touch wiz no problemo for me (i think that the case) but i just dont get on with android that well, i aint used ios since i had a iPhone 4s at the beginning of last year. and i just miss its ease of use ui. and it was really smooth to use barely frozee and no apps suddenly crash. problems that i dont frequently suffer on android, but suffer with more than a few times aweek which is alot for me as i use my phone alot haha

I did a thing once and it was awsome: https://soundcloud.com/jamese666/junkhead-cover-with-vocals

Well of course if you use a version of android with tons of bloatware and crap, it will be slow (yes I am talking about crapwiz) Get a phone that has an unlocked bootloader or runs close to stock android and it is amazing. Some phones that run close to stock are the motorola phones like moto x, moto g, droid turbo, etc. The One Plus One has cyanogenmod which is a modified version of stock android so that would work too. Then you have the nexus phones. I have a GS4 with a hacked bootloader running 4.4 (5.0 still needs some port work) and I love it. Battery lasts 2 days and is super fast.
