One 970, it will be just as fast as the 760 SLI if not faster. AND you don't have to deal with SLI issues

My friend is building a pc and i was wondering two 760's or one 970???

GTX 970 is the better option. It will consume a lot less power, give higher FPS in all games, and will be able to play DirectX 12 games. Oh, and it can also max out any game at 1080p.
