Need help regarding having two hard drives both with operating systems on it

HK_Rage

Recently a computer in the household has stopped turning on all together. Now there is some important information on the hard drive and we would like to see if its somehow possible to plug in that hard drive onto my computer and recover the information on that hard drive.

Now my computer has Windows 7 Home while the other computer had Windows 7 Ultimate or something around that, is this possible?

Just plug it in to other computer and access the files!  When it comes to this though, I like to do it through linux. (You can boot linux through a simple linux boot CD)

Edit: Linux mint is an easy one to use.

or he can just use windows?:/

just plug it in. if you dont change your boot preferences it should just load up nomally.

Oh yes he can, I just said I prefer Linux because windows can throw up some nasty/annoying errors with this sort of thing.
