This. So much this. The cure-all-fix-all of "I forgot my password"

I have yet to put hirens boot disk and trinity rescue kit on flash drives, though that would also require me getting two more flash drives which I can dedicate to them, and something to put them on so I don't lose em...

How-so?

It allows you to completely clear the password for windows, or at least change it, along with plenty of other things.

I actually prefer disks to USB's but that's just me. I'm starting to use Rufus more though.

Disks are not as convenient to carry around with you, can get scratched pretty easily unless in a case, and not all pcs have optical drives.

Diagnostics:
Seagate Seatools installer and a boot disc with the DOS version installed.

WD DataLifeguard installed and a boot disc with the DOS version installed.

Memtest

Malware:

Mac

-Bitdefender Adware Removal Tool (Blasts all versions of Genieo)

Windows

-Comodo Cleaning Essentials (Greatest utility for looking for and identifying malicious startup entries, reg entries, currently running programs, etc)

-TDSSKiller

-MBAM

-SuperAntiSpyware (Very thorough but look at all results before saying delete all)

Tune Up:

CCleaner

IOBit Smart Defrag (Very fast, much defrag, such speed)

Miscellaneous:

BlueScreenView

7zip portable

Revo Uninstaller Portable

Core Temp

Recuva

Belarc Advisor (Only on occasion do I use this. It even lifts product keys for Office and other software).

I also keep a second USB with an installation of Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 on it. Great environment to boot to with a thorough (and by that I mean "Takes a fracking long time") scanner that helps recover systems from ransomware. It has a full web browser and regedit tool. Good stuff.

I liked all the suggestions here. I will definitely be checking out Hiren's.

+1 for hirens. http://www.hirensbootcd.org/

I primarily used hirens when I was a Tech, and anything else I needed I would just add later on to my drive. For example, a ninight.com installer.

Windows install disks were also extremely handy.
