Hello to everybody,

recently I purchased x99 Deluxe board and the driver's CD came with a copy of Deamon Tools Pro. Interestingly enough Deamon tools came with malware and infected my PC right after I had Windows installed.

This event was really frustrating to say the least.

Anyway how can I check-proof and be 100 per cent confident that my Windows is free from any malware and virues?

Best regards and thanks!

Ah deamon tools. They used to be clean. I made that mistake a few years ago too. They just...dicks.

Just use malwarebytes and follow it with adw cleaner to start with

You'll need to reset/remove plugins on your browsers too. Like search conduit.

%100? buy a new computer. Or wipe drive and re-install... otherwise you can't be absolute %100.

Ain't it just the cutest little signature.

Some would argue it is the cutest little signature ever.

I had a similar experience, and just wiped the hard drive and started again. Because it was a new drive with nothing else on it, it was the quickest and easiest route to take.

I know that resetting the drive to factory state would just be fine but the idea I was hoping for was to be able to bypass that procedure as I will have to do it all over again, but Malwarebytes seems to have corrected the issue. As far as I understand Malwarebytes isn't anti-virus program replacement right?

No, but as long as you are a power user that doesn't click on fake DL links or crap like that, I don't actually recommend virus protection. That windows defender or whatever does a great job.
