My mom is going to be building a rig to play a few games. Borderlands 2, League of Legends, and some Valve games. She will not be playing anything else on this rig. Why does she need to spend more for the option to buy a $350 GPU in 6 months, if she's never going to? She maybe be only one case, but she's a grand one, since she's on a budget.

and if she isnt going to be rendering videos and using photoshop then an i3 is arguably a good choice too, it performs better in some games though for a build like this I would say the fx6300 is a fine choice

I understand the concept of a budget PC you know, just built a £300 pc for a friend, I have an AMD AM1 system too,

I'm sorry. I guess I've been subconsciously venting my anger out towards Intel fanboys who blindly turn away from AMD solely because they have enough money to forget about them. Not your fault, and I shouldn't have been so aggressive.

Depends on your budget. AMD is usually nicer to the wallet but still puts out a really good fight, so don't count it out just because it's not intel. My first build was AMD and it lasted me 2 years, and i still use it as a backup.

So, on a budget, get AMD.

If you want more power, get Intel.

Either way you can't lose.
