I'm pretty sure that if you use HDMI you can't use the RCA out at the same time. (on the bluray)

So then you wouldn't be able to go through the equalizer, which I assume you could use with an RCA to 3,5mm with a 6,3mm adapter (or maybe an RCA to 6,3mm cable but I haven't seen those)

To further clarify, the equalizer is a middle-man. You send audio to it, then it does the "equalization", then sends the audio out again, "equalized". The weird plugs you see are XLR ports, and the other ones are 6,3 mm ones. XLR is mostly used in more professional environments, while the 6,3 is a normal consumer thing, just the big brother to 3,5mm.

Well you need source audio in to the equalizer, and then from equalizer to audio in on amp. RCA to 6,3mm jack (or 3,5mm with a 6,3mm adapter) in to the equalizer, and the same out. You could also use the XLR connectors with adapters to either 3,5mm, RCA or 6,3mm. the RCA to 6,3mm would probably be the cheaper option, and it most likely will sound exactly the same.
