Can anyone provide me a decent yet affordable tripod for under £50 ($75) The tripod can be a 3D ball head or just a standard one, a head that can be replaced and is lightweight and compact. I will be using the tripod for photographs and video, so having that smooth 360 degrees rotation on the tripod head is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sean.

I have one of these :http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ravelli-AVT-Professional-67-inch-Camera/dp/B00139XOCI/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1421181796&sr=8-6&keywords=fluid+head+tripod

It's a solid tripod. The fluid drag is a little weird at first, but once you use it a bit it smooths out. For the price, it's hard to beat.

it looks decent, but the weight is what is keeping me off it... its a decent tripod from what i can tell.

It is a bit heavy, though I don't mind it; more stability for panning shots. Even though it is heavier than others, I usually end up adding weight to it anyways.

If you're looking to do some pan shots, I'd like to suggest looking into fluid heads. They're pricier than their photography counterparts but they're excellent for video.

For photography yes, but for video I would look into getting a fluid head

I use an Inca 1530 which is fine for everyday video use and has full 360 degrees rotation that is independent to the ball head.

I am about to get rid of it though, and upgrade to a $700 Manfrotto system because for more professional work, this just can't hold the weight of a full rig.

Lightweight, sturdy, affordable. In a tripod you can only choose two.

A $75 budget is not that much for a tripod, you can expect to find heavier options like the one above, or lighter yet flimsier ones like this: http://www.amazon.com/Dolica-ZX600B103-Professional-60-Inch-Series/dp/B008JE4S6G

would this be a good one? its lightweight and compact. and a good thing is, i found out that you can replace the head and put a fluid head for smooth panning shots for whenever i want to do video.

its on sale and hama is quite a good company

I've tried shooting videos with a Manfrotto ballhead and it was a pain to shoot with. Save up and get a decent tripod, then invest in a decent fluid head with pan and tilt drag adjustments, as well as a counter balancing mechanism so your camera doesnt fall forward and hit the lens

Anything by Manfrotto you should be good with :P

Honestly most things under $75 isn't great. My Sony VCT-Rsomething cost $100 and it snapped when I put my 600D on it.

Don't cheap out, it could cost you more than you bargained for.

That tripod is a tank.  Its incredibly heavy.

I own one and use it for filming auto racing.  I throw it into the car trailer at the end of the night and it takes a beating.  After one full season it isn't the prettiest thing anymore but its still solid as a rock.

Head is decent.  not a great video head but for the price its a very attractive piece of gear.

I just wish the head was removable because I wouldent mind getting a nicer head to put on the legs.  I am convinced the legs with last for ever.
