My predictions

I have two things that I am predicting:

 

AMD is going to kill it in the GPU game with the help of Freesync. They should also sell the module to add to your existing monitor for $20-$50. If they would do that I would sell my 970 for an AMD card.

 

LInus is wrecking havok on CES on purpose, and is going to use the footage for the Phantom Glass video.

I don't think he does.

I guess module would be the wrong word to use (used to gsync which you can buy the module for $100). I am sure there should be a way to integrate DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync to an existing monitor, even if it does take some modification. $20-$50 is a lot better than $100 or more.

Adaptive-Sync is a standard built into Display Port 1.2a. its like saying they should let you add a DVI port to a monitor that only has VGA. you can't mimic adaptive sync through an adapter (afaik).

Freesync is not a module that you can just slap on to any monitor. The monitor has to be built to support it from the ground up.

 

And they sure as hell gonna make you pay more than $20-$50 for this supposedly 'free' feature.

Not they don't make you pay anything unless your talking about the module that doesn't exist.

I predict if you want to make use of FreeSync you will be ending up buying a new monitor.
