I game with both speakers and a headset so I don't know which I should get!! Let me know you guys opinions!!

Games i play are shadow of mordor, unity, battlefield and other steam games.

    Thanks Nick :)

If your parents/roomates dont want to hear the game, go with a headset. If nobody cares, get speakers and make it sound like you're in a warzone.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

If you play games casually and only by yourself I would recommend speakers, if you play competitive games online then headset is superior for sound location.

If you play with friends then you would probably need a mic?

I suggest getting a good pair of headphones, and than if you need a mic get something like a modmic or a

blue snowball.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

if you are a normal type of guy or gurl then go buy yourself a set of 2.1 speakers fore ~50euro/gbp/usd whatever, or you hang out on teamspeak often then maybe a decent headset like hypercloud x or pc 350.

If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself.

I used to have some 2.1 speakers but I got rid of them because they weren't really working for me for times such as night time gaming when I was playing with the family asleep.

I've got a headset now - Razer Kraken 7.1

I prefer to use a headset over speakers anyways, When I move house this year, I'm going to be making my room into an entertainment center as well so I'm going to install speakers in the corner of my room and have a 5.1 surround sound experience for the TV - For netflix / films etc.

I'm also thinking of getting a set of the corsair vengeance gaming speakers - can't remember the exact name, Google corsair speakers - 2.1 set. Linus reviewed them before that's where I remember them from.

I use headphones and Asus DGX Xonar sound card in Dolby 7.1 virtual surround sound mode. I used to have a surround speaker setup for my PC years ago, and I honestly can't tell much of a difference. I sometimes even think I hear someone talking in another room, or outside of my house while I'm gaming, but its just the virtual surround.

Ideally you should get one of the better 2.0 speakers, or set yourself up with bookshelves and a Lepai amp if you have space.
