Hello,

So i set up raid 0 on my barracudas today.I backed up the files on my other HDD but whenever I try to install windows on my barracudas it completes the process, restarts and does it again.I am installing windows 7 through an usb drive.

After that i took my hdd that had windows 8 in it and tried to boot my pc up,but that didn't work as well, but i tried to boot up my laptop through the hdd and it booted up fine. Also the hdd is laptop sized, does that affect stuff?

And even worse none of my HDDs are being detected in the boot menu or bios.

Please reply fast guys.

Thank you

Nope

I'm going to say something and I hope you set it up right

Do you have your raid array as the FIRST boot so at the very start of the boot order?

Because you need to do that and boot from the USB via the boot menu (Usually F8, F9 or F11)

You probably have the SATA controller in RAID mode still.

Also, installing from USB is finnicky in my experience, for best results install from disk. How did you set up the RAID? In the BIOS using Intel Matrix?

There's no reason you can't use a RAID 0 for a boot volume though - I did it back in the LGA 1366 days. The issue is your SATA controller is now expecting to see a RAID volume to boot from and it can't find one. If you've definitely put it back into AHCI or IDE mode and it still won't work, try clearing the CMOS and/or flashing the BIOS.
