displayport 1.2a/1.3 freesync support

not just that, it needs the firmware to drive it

just because it has DP 1.2a doesnt mean it has a variable refresh panel, which a tv probably will never have

so you might need to wait 3-5 years if you want a tv that supports freesync...

You need the hardware on the monitor and firmware for proper support.

If you have only the firmware applied on the monitor, the effect will be sucky.

So, when you buy a freesync monitor, you have to be careful. Check reviews before, to make sure it is the real deal.
