Max supported displays at one Time

Optimus Prime
Go to solution Solved by Optimus Prime,

You can get a DP hub, but all but one card's outputs will be disabled.

That may be via running in nVidia Surround mode, but not with SLI, as SLI only allows for the use of the top card's monitor ports.

Whats up LTT

Got a little question

performance metrics aside, If I am running 3 - 4 GTX 980's (with reference layout). How many displays can  I run at the same time?

I want to run a 3+1 Landscape surround set up with 2 independant displays.

Is this possible?

Your max would be 4, as SLI only supports the output from one card and each card can do a max of 4 displays. Now, if you were to add an extra card not in SLI, you could put more displays on it.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

But I have seen images and video's online of people running ROG swifts for example with a DP cable coming from each GPU...... I thought that restriction was only for Radeon cards?

Oh ok. Never knew of that before

Neither did I lol, I never thought to check Nvidia's website. I remember checking online during the 600 series era and couldn't find anything definitive
