I just finished my rig and I am using the h100i to cool a 4790k.  Before I did anything else I went into my BIOS just to make sure nothing was completely messed up and so I could set my memory to X.M.P. mode when I noticed that my cpu temps were at 31 degrees and they soon climbed to 35 degrees.  Now I know that these temps aren't terrible, but they seem high to me for a water cooler at idle, especially without overclocking. I was wondering what I could do to fix that or if I am just going crazy and there is nothing actually wrong. Any and all help is very much appreciated.

could be a number of things:

  • loose mount - use the o-ring mod to tighten the clamping force
  • high ambient temperature

  • system bleeding due to new install

  • cavitation - air entering the system (hose end on the radiator is higher than the

    non-hose end)

That is not actually high. I have a Kraken X61 on my 4790K (not OCd) and I am idling at 29-31°C at ambient room temperature at roughly 25-26°C but I am very close to a radiator in my room :D

But load temperatures (while playing The Crew for example) didnt go over 40°C, so I think that is not bad :) If it is, someone tell me, pls :D
