I made this for the RSI forums but with the upcomming org event I thought it might be of use to you guys as well.

As far as I understand we're still undecided on whether missiles will be permitted in the competition, but if they are, here are a few tips for evading them. Not always effective and some of them require some practice but they do work. Missiles are pretty ridiculous at the moment so every little bit helps. :)

NOTE: This was made for the missiles in AC version 1.0. Missiles are quite different now.

I was wondering, is this video made pre or post AC v1.0? I see your 325a's Omnisky VI's have the correct names, whereas mine don't.

It's made after 1.0. The name bug is just one of the many. :) Try deleting the USER folder in your \StarCitizen\CitizenClient directory before running the game. This usually fixes a number of such bugs. But have in mind that this will reset  your existing settings and control mappings to default and you'll have to redo them.

I know about the USER folder :)

Reason I asked is that the names bug is a known bug at CIG, and I thought this had to be patched.

New to Star Citizen? Look no further!

Yeah, it most definitely does need to be patched. A lot of people are getting it. And I had it too, it just disappeared at some point. And it went away around the time I deleted my USER folder for another reason so I just assumed that that's what fixed it.

Compared to some of the other hairy stuff that was introduced in 1.0, it's pretty minor, though.
