Jk it means Titanium back when there were geforce 2, 3, 4 they used Ti to difference between the classes of cards... Like GT, GTS, GTX ... but I really dont know why they brought it back xD probably to make money

It stands for titanium, but they use a very specific numbering system for their cards. *50,*60,*70 and *80 then*90 always being a double GPU card.

They release a Ti when the card doesnt fit into those numbers or they already have a number but need to compete more with AMD.

For example. The 780 came out but it was immediately beaten buy the 290x so in response Nvidia released the 780ti, If they'd called in the 790 then it would have gona against what theyve done for a few years with all 90 cards being double GPUs

Correct.

The only thing you should really worry about the difference, for example say you have a GTX 770 and a 780. But like some features and others not so much and would prefer something right smack dab in the middle..   Bam 770Ti.

That's basically the only difference there really is, but I prefer to stay away from the Ti's and just get the next card up imo.
