Mouse DPI Help Needed (R.A.T 5)

So ive had a R.A.T 5 for like a year now. and i usually have it set to (2) if you do not have this mouse. Stock it has 4 dpi settings. You click a little button joystick thing up and down on the mouse to increase and decrease this. Naturally 4 is spammy fast. and 1 is very slow. HOWEVER i know that dpi is not simply speed but accuracy. And ive been told you need to crank the mouse dpi, and lower in game sensitivity to take full advantage of a gaming mouses high dpi. Sure no problem. Slight issue, i dont want to turn my mouse down when i go back into windows. What is the best way to set up windows and games to take advantage of my mouses max dpi setting without the pointer moving WAY TO FAST.

Mouse Model= R.A.T. 5
Mouse Max Dpi= 5600 dpi.

SNIP

actually most pro gamers use really low DPI settings. ;pw sensitivity high DPI honestly makes no difference, 400DPI is higher than the resolution of any monitor on the market, so having more makes no difference as the mouse can only move between 2 pixels on a screen

for example, in battlefield 4, Jack Frags uses 400 dpi, and a sensitivity of 10% in game,

Windows mouse should ALWAYS be set to 6/11

You should use the lowest DPI you can and increase game sensitivity.

The higher DPI you use the more innacurate small adjustments are.

So whats the point in buying gaming mice with super high DPI then? I mean aside from that this mouse feels better than a cheapo 20 dollar one. If the fancy laser makes no difference what gives?

Just because everybody is telling you to run 400 dpi doesn't mean it will be the best for YOU. You have to find this out for yourself.

The "that's what the pro's do argument is just silly. Some people rock 2000 dpi no prob or even 4000 dpi.

Just play around with the ingame sensitivity and mouse dpi and find what works best for you.

Marketing. The same reason majority of high end mice use flawed laser sensors instead of flawless optical ones. '16000 DPI Laser Sensor' sounds better than '5000 DPI Optical Sensor'. Bigger number and newer technology! It has to be better, right?

DPI is just speed (or sensitivity), but some mice with high DPI can have effect on accuracy, but negatively. There are mice that use software magic to artificially increase the maximum DPI, causing anything over the native levels to jitter or skip pixels or whatever weirdness it might conjure.

To get best results with your mouse, set Windows speed at 6 / 11 (the "true 1:1" tracking) and disable Enhanced Precision (=acceleration). Set your DPI in the mouse configuration software to as low as you can tolerate and finally adjust sensitivity in your game as needed.

If you want to know more about what makes a good mouse, I suggest reading the Mouse Guide 2.0.
