What Android Phone to get?

Just broke my old windows phone and I need a new one now. I want an android phone, but I don't know what one to get. I've never had a android so I really have no idea what would be best for me

OnePlus One is my pick, but it's slightly tricky to get.  Other fantastic options are the HTC One M8, Sony XPERIA Z3, and Moto X.  I can easily recommend all of these.

The Moto X Gen 2, HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and LG G3 are all solid multi-carrier picks, especially the Note 4 if you're willing to unlock the bootloader, root and install a custom ROM.

can you unlock the bootloader? i have an s4 and its not unlockable.

I'm actually unsure. I know though that there are ROMs, recoveries and kernels for it.

under my research with a locked bootloader the ROM would have to be touchwiz based so ewwwwwww

Touchwiz isn't that bad.

 

Aside performance issues which most of these ROMs fix, it's decent. And if you really don't like the look of the homescreens, get Nova or Google Now Launcher.
