The reference cooler's actually pretty good (for a reference cooler I guess). The custom coolers are obviously better outside of SLI or SFF, but a lot of people like the looks of the reference cooler. A fair few people would go for the looks over better performance.

This makes no sense to me, considering you can't see the good looking part of the card. I mean I think it's beautiful, but I wouldn't buy it except for one of those mini-ITX cases where you'd have it mounted sideways facing the window. I have to admit that would be pretty badass.

They were first made available in the UK from what I know. I think Overclockers were the first to sell them. Like, at least a few months ago.

Nah man, that card came out in the UK a couple of weeks before Best Buy sold it in the states. I remember people wanting to import those into the US from Overclockers the day they launched in the UK.

I like the looks of a reference card, but they simply don't stack up against custom coolers.
