The total number of pixels? Multiply 1920x1080.

yes 2k is 1080p the resolution is 1920x1080

2.7k is 1440p

 

4k is 2160p

Well, no.. 2K is 2048x1080.. 2.5K could be 2560x1440 (16:9) or 2560x1600 (16:10). It's kind of weird, because the usual HD resolutions of 720 or 1080 ('p' only refers to progressive scan, versus interlaced, and has nothing to do with overall resolution) are referring to the vertical pixels; whereas 2K and 4K are referring to the horizontal pixels.

 

On a 1920x1080 display, there are ~2 million pixels; a 4K (4096x2160) display has ~8.8 million.

whether its cinema 2k, anamorphic, 1080p etc etc etc

And yeah, when you're talking about differences of 128 or 256 pixels for resolutions as big as 1080 or 4K, respectively, it makes near as much as no difference.
