Sup guys, hope ya'll had a great start of the new year! :)

I'm looking to get my first gaming mouse, now I've read a fair share of threads on LTT on the topic and most recommendations seem to be "Logitech G502 is GOD!" or "Get the Razer DeathAdder 2013".

After some research on both mice, I've decided that neither are for me. I'm looking to avoid Razer because IMO their quality does not live up to the hype and reputation behind the brand (based on past Razer products owned). The G502 has too much going on for me. Too many buttons my clumsy hands will undoubtedly press at incovenient times. Don't like the metal scroll wheel either. I want something more simplistic.

What are good gaming mice alternatives I need to take a look at.

Needs: for a right handed claw grip user, simplistic but practical design, quality design and materials, great optical sensor (no acceleration etc.), wired, good DPI. Budget: around $60-$80

I've stumbled across the Mionix NAOS 7000 and Mionix Avoir 7000, are these good mice? Specifically the sensor they have?

TL;DR: I need a good simplistic gaming mouse that isn't the G502 or DeathAdder 2013 that has a great optical sensor and is good for a right handed claw grip user.

The Corsair M45 seems like it would be suitable.

corsair m65

Laser sensor, not optical.

I would say the M45 is a better option then.

Thanks for the answers guys!

The Corsair M45 seems like it would be suitable.

Do you know if it has the same aluminum base body as the M65?

Try the Mionix Naos / Mionix Avior, The Steelseries Kana V2 or the Corsair M65s.

I've checkes some reviews of the Mionix Naos and Avior. I really like the Naos, it's a shame that it's made of plastic at that price point though. It doesn't seem to be widely available in my country either. :(

Laser sensor, not optical.

I would say the M45 is a better option then.

Isn't the DPI on the M45 a bit low? Also if the M65 doesn't have acceleration, I guess I could go for a laser mouse.

The mionix naos 7000 is good had no problems palming, felt a bit off in claw for me. The M45 might be a better choice for you.

I'm in between claw and palm mainly because the Logitech M305 I'm using now is obviously too small for palm but I think the Mionix might still suit me.

Which one do you guys think will suit me best?

No, it has a plastic base instead of the aluminum found on the M65.

It's up to you how much dpi you need. I'm not really satisfied--still waiting for a nice mouse with 15000 dpi. Laser mice have inherent acceleration.

15000?!

Since your a claw grip a G302 might suit your tastes. I would also recommend the Corsair sabre rgb optical. The mionix mice really are not claw grip but that doesn't mean you couldnt. Asus rog gladius only works well with a palm-claw grip so that may be for you. You could also look at the defacto cm storm spawn or Corsair m45 along with the roccat Kone pure optical or military.

Higher dpi would be great for productivity.

I can hardly hanlde 4000 on a 24" 1080p screen x3

Umm to a certain point. I found that even 3200dpi was a bit much for me to be accurate. 2400 is a good compromise for my 4 monitors.

My recommendation would be a Corsair M45 if you HAVE to have an optical sensor. Otherwise, M65 is a great claw gripper. It has a laser sensor if it really does mean that much to you.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

The Naos 7000 doesn't seem like it would work well with claw grip. I think the Avior 7000 would be more appropriate. That's what I use now and I use claw grip

I wouldn't pay more than $60 for it though

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm going to consider all that you have suggested. Cheers! :)

Where'd you pick yours up? They seem to be a bit scarce to buy.

It seems like the zowie FK1 is the perfect mouse for you then. It's small enough that you can claw comfortably but also large enough where you can Palm it comfortably. It may even be under your price range, and it has the best sensor on the market

I would recommend the Logitech G402, it is like the G502 but with a more simplistic design.  Also, Corsair M45 and M60 would be a solid mouse too

Thanks for your replies! I checked out both mice you recommended. I would get the G402 or the G502 for that matter in a heartbeat if they fitted my needs better. My current keyboard, mouse and speakers are Logitech and really trust the brand and their products.

However, the G502 has enough deal breakers (as stated in OP) to put me off from getting it and the G402 has a dpi of 4000. I'm looking for at least 6500>.

I don't really like the Zowie FK1's design.

The narrowed down short list consists of the: Mionix Avior 7000, Steelseries Rival and Roccat Kone Pure Military.

I think I'm going with the Avior 7000, if I can get it for $60. I love the minimalistic, subtle design, the ergonomics and build quality seem to be supurb and the optical sensor, switches and software seem to also be of the highest quality.
