I currently have a AMD Radeon HD 7770 which has worked great as a temporary card for me until I can spend the money on something a lot more powerful. In my PC I also happen to have an i5-3570k clocked at 4.3 GHz. What is the biggest graphics card I should pair up with this CPU. Give 4 choices: an AMD choice, an Nvidia choice, a dual SLI choice, and a dual crossfire X choice. Thanks in advance:)

The biggest? Anything including dual GPU / SLI / Crossfire should be fine :D

PS: Depends on your budget and usecase.

Don't care about the budget yet, I just want to know my limit for the future. But since it looks like no graphics card card can make my proccessor a bottleneck yet then I guess my limit is maybe a couple titans in SLI lol. But I would never spend $2K for some graphics cards unless I was like bitcoin mining lol. I have 3 6950's in a litecoin mining rig I might end up taking two of them when I feel it's time to retire them. That should be a sufficient upgrade especially when AMD fixes all their crossfire problems, which I feel is coming soon.

It doesn't get much better than the 3570k. Go with whatever configuration you want.

What's your budget?

My budget is: only spend enough to keep running most games in max settings at 1080p LOL

Yeah, just throw in whatever you like. You are probably limited to normal SLI because of the Z77 chipset.

I grabbed one Asus 660 DCII OC of ebay for cheap and traded my 570 for another one. I can probably play just about any game at ultra/high @ 1080p

Can you fill me in on "normal SLI" as opposed to "other SLI types??"

I'm not worried about SLI right now though, I think AMD has a more interesting future so I've been sticking with them lately. Don't get me wrong Nvidia cards are epic and I wish I had PHysX sometimes.(Ive been playing planetside 2 A LOT) But AMD is looking brighter in the long run to me.

You could wait and see what the AMD new line is, and compare it to something like a 760 or 770, or you could go with like a 7950, or even something like 760 SLI (if it's any good, and affordable) Or even 7950 or 7870 SLI if you have a big budget and AMD gets their crap together lol. (No hating on the red team, both are great, just I've heard issues with xfire)

Depending on what 760 actually turns out to be, and not just rumoured to be, maybe it'll actually be pretty good. But we dunno for certain yet. (that I know of)

@bcredeur97

I'd either go with the GTX 780 right now,or wait for AMD's new line up and buy their best single gpu card.

SLI / CF isn't really worth it at 1080p when there are cards as powerful as we have now.

I wouldn't recommend crossfire for anything below a 2560x1440 resolution, and even then a gtx 780 could run that pretty damn well.

Surround/Eyefinity is obviously a situation where CF/SLI is needed .

well, then one day....far far away....in a kingdom of pixels (lol)  and fairies you can upgrade to SLI/CF,and when/if that time comes the card you'll need to SLI/CF with will be $100-150 cheaper......and get this....SAME PERFORMANCE AS IF YOU BOUGHT THAT CARD NOW....awesome right?

lol :P

Totally awesome. Three screens has come to mind many times as well. Really want to do that one day.
