I want this pc for gaming. It would be good if you could give me feedback on any bottle necks or over powered parts and of course any other notes on the system.

List is here: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/D49ZjX

I have found most of these parts cheaper so just focus on the actual components ignore the prices on the list. I got all these parts for just over $1100 AUD Im not looking to spend much more unless there is a bottle neck or significant performance improvement for not much more. I don't care about the case as I will figure that out once I decided the parts. Any feedback would be very useful. Thanks in advanced.

Sorry fixed that but it is a fairly budget build.

Why 16gb ram? 8GB should be plenty for gaming.

I found the blue it for $60 but I'll still check that out

That's a pretty decent deal in that case.

Try checking this out :). http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/MV4QMp

Cut the RAM to 8gb and get an i5 4690k and your build is set. :)

I made a few edits

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/D49ZjX

In there i have the cpu as a 6300 because it wouldn't let me use the 6350 just know that's what it is.

I see why you guys are recommending an i5 but I want a 6 core and there so much more expensive compared to the 6350

That's worse than what I suggested.

Tell me what you think 6350 or an i5

The i5 is better.

i5 is better the 6300 would bottlebeck the gtx 970 :). and btw the amd has a lot of cores but it's not that powerful. if you're just planning on game you won't be needing that much cores and threads.

Cores aren't everything. The i5 will have much more performance per core which will allow for better performance overall, especially in games. The 6350 would bottleneck the 970 hard, limiting it's potential.

4460 or 4690

Whichever is cheaper or the 4690 if it's not much more.

Would you recommend a micro atx board/case

Whichever is cheaper.
