ROG Swift PG278Q

The price probably will go down as G-Sync becomes more mainstream, but it will still be expensive.

There aren't many G-Sync monitors on the market, currently. Once it becomes a "commodity" item, then expect prices to drop.

When do you think that will be?

Give it 3-4 years more.

I'm thinking either 2015 or 2016.

The damn thing stays sold out.

Assuming G-Sync catches on, I'll say a few years.

I'll pay more for higher quality.

I'll be honest, I don't have perfect vision, I wear corrective lenses and I have astigmatism. But I am using a monitor that is 27" and only 1080P and I don't see much difference when I play on my monitor or my friend's 1440P monitor. If I get really close, and I mean really close at a closer range than normally sitting in front of the monitor, then yeah I can start to see the pixels break down on my monitor. From a prime viewing distance though, I can't see a difference.

Now to answer your question, it's not going to come down much for a good long while. ASUS takes pride in their technology and this monitor is one of the best if not THE best (according to Linus it is). So either budget to buy or look elsewhere. Even Acer, whom I would consider to be entry level, is charging over $1,000 US for their 28" G-Sync monitor. Granted it's 4K, but G-Sync monitors are few right now.

Your attitude determines 100% of your life's outcomes. Bad Attitude, bad life. Great attitude, great life.

I love my Asus ROG Swift. I found one at Microcenter after checking for 3 months lol. I also got a check in the mail for $880.
