Since I started using 144, I despised seeing 60

It is clear there is a noticeble difference, you can see linus' video about it. Even I could tell the difference though a 30FPS video when I watched it (dont ask me how, but i could see a difference).

Your monitor may only output 60 of those 200 fps

Yes, I don't care, locking at 60 just does not feel right. And for cs I need above 120 anyway.

I find that 120 and 144 are hard to notice (just me ). However there is a noticeable difference from 60 to 120, I would just go with 120.

Maybe because it's a mere 24 frame difference at an already high refresh rate, whereas 60-120 is a doubling of the refresh rate at 60 extra frames.

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

I'm using onboard graphics (until my 980 arrives) on a 144hz monitor and am getting 60ish fps.

60fps on a 144Hz monitor looks a lot less smooth than on a 60Hz monitor. Try setting your refresh rate in 60Hz.

I'm on a 144Hz monitor, everytime I play at a friend house at 60Hz it feels kinda weird, though resolution and quality settings also make the difference not just the FPS.

If you go from 60Hz to 120/144 you are probably not going to notice too much difference though it will feel smoother but if you try and go back to 60 then it's going to be hard, at least for me.
