You haven't given us the entire story. What cooler are you using? What's your voltage? What are your temps?

@67ex212 what is your voltage reported in cpu-z (just do a validation and link it), and what is your temp in AIDA64 stress test (use realtemp).

Uhh, I had a i7 950 myself & 4.45Ghz on a i7 950, that's VERY hard to get. If you don't know what you're doing revert to stock settings & read a guide first on how to overclock an i7 920/930/950

 

Getting a stable 4.2 Ghz on that processor, you'd consider yourself very lucky.

 

4.4+ would require a ton of voltage and generate a lot of heat on that particular CPU.

 

I'd advise you to not go over 1.35-1.4v on an i7 950.
