Hello everyone, so after searching for a while i discovered that wikipedia had an awful amount of resolutions but i didnt knew that they already had such an extreme resolution in topic (QUHD) and that sounds really revolutionary "Quad Ultra HD". So what are your expectations for such an incredible resolution screen and how it could help us in several aspects of life like the ever evolving medical computing, surveillance cameras with such resolution and insane zoom, watching over the skies and deep within the planet developing the worlds knowledge of space and planets, and obviously how good the cinematic and multimedia industry will gain as sideffect of this resolution. Well what you think? Will it be released by 2022-2025? Its funny to think that just one of these monitors currently would require 4 or more "GTX 980's Oced" to run Dota 2 at 60 fps :P. Thank you.

4K is not actually settled.

It'll take atleast 3-4 years to make 4K as look like FHD.

QUHD 2025 may be possible :P Really it sounds revolutionary.

It needs more VRAM to run a game in such resolutions.

Currently 2x Titan Z's can run 3 4K monitors. 24GB VRAM for 3x4K monitors means Atleast you will need 30GB VRAM or more to run a game in such resolutions..

Correct me if i'm wrong!

So QUHD is what 8k is to 4k, like what 1440p is compared to 720p (QHD in this case). Am i correct?

Well, 8k is closing on the limit of where we truly won't be able to notice more pixels anymore, it sounds great. The problem with displays is still the lack of depth, our eyes can only focus on the screen itself, i wonder if we'll ever be able to figure this out, because it could make viewing experiences truly immersive.

8k panels will start production in 2020, 8k is basically the limit our eyes can see so any higher will be pointless in terms of visual looks. as for helping us i think it will change the way alot of things work eg conferences, doctor appointments etc provided the country or town as the infrastructure in place to support such massive bandwidth needs.

Yea but 8k streaming will only be a thing in Australia in 2050, meanwhile the rest of the world would've moved onto the next greatest thing - maybe 144hz IPS 8k.

If AMD/nVidia/maybe other gpu company would want to develop so much vram not roasting it all.  Anyway I see it only good for cinemas, home using? Walls can be decorated with other thing than tv's/monitors

What's with all the people saying that you can't see the pixels above 8K? 8K on a 27" monitor is only 326PPI, the same as an iPhone 5/S/6. You will be able to pick out pixels from a maximum of approximately 11" away.

I can tell the difference between an iPhone 5's screen and a LG G3's screen. Steve Jobs's "the human eye can't see above 300PPI" quote should've had an asterisk:

*from 12" away

QUHD at 27" is 652PPI, and pixels will be visible at a maximum of approximately 5" away.

LMAO!!! yes us Aussie get screwed over even tho i will be getting fiber very soon i know that speeds wont be available and even if they are the prices will be insane!

Well amd are the ones who said that 8k is more or less the most we can perceive also panel manufactures have stated production of 8k will start in 2020 you can give it till 2022 - 2023 for them to be actual viable option at reasonable price (based on 4k) the reality is that gpu manufactures could actually give us more vram at the same price its just there hasnt been demand for it before 4k.
