Oh you don't have "auto" enabled, enable it and it should fix it.

Also remember to make your fan curve look like this:

The reason why it wasn't working is because you were manually controlling the card's fan speed, since "auto" wasn't highlighted.

When you push user define + auto, it uses your fan curve.

Np, glad I could help

this may be a daft question ,

but do i have to have afterburner open all of the time , for this to work ?

i have been watching a few vidz on youtube ( not related to this ), but have also been watching the temps of the card ,

and if i don't have atferburner open , the temp will go over 60+c and will not start the fans

but as soon i as start afterburner the fans will start and bring the temps back down to 59/60c or blelow and the fans will stop ,

is this right ? do have to have afterburner open all of the time ?

I believe so unless you edit all the bios values to do what your fan curve is doing.

You can minimize afterburner to the system tray, thats what I would recommend.

OK cheers lays

it's not really a big problem , as when i play games i always have it open , ( well evga precision x 16 anyways ) and it is working fine with either program  of them open

thank you

edit : i did have adjust the fan curve on precision x 16 to the same as afterburner  to get it to work with it .

I did this to my 970 g1 gaming and it worked, however the fans start at 0 then spike up to max(on fan tachometer) and then back to 0 and this repeats...

I flashed my backup back and it went back to normal.

Any Idea what is wrong?

Did you have a full fan curve set up whilst enabling "user define" and "Auto" mode?

Yes, with the fans set to 0 up until 60 degrees.

You have them set to go to 40% when it hits 60?

Try changing the temperature hysteresis to 12, and see if it helps.

I had them set to about 35% at 60 so will reflash, change it to 40% and see if that helps.

I had the temperature hysteresis set to 12.

Never mind, I had the points at 0% at 60 then 40% at 70. It worked fine once I set it to 40% at 60.

Thanks for the help anyway.

I just wanted to let every one know its possible to get it done with the AMD HD 7000 series cards and get it on the R7/R9 200 series cards as well using the VBE7 Tool, Some cards on the AMD side will not have a true 0 fan mode but instead have a very very low fan speed.

For example my R9 280 Gaming from MSI the 0% fan speed is actually 900RPM but that is the lowest it will go due to a hardware limitation with the fans on the card.

Some cards have a hardware limit the fan speeds there is nothing to get around it.
