How do you do your bench-marking?

With 3dmark that is going on 80% sale right now GO GET IT EMERHARRGGGDD

Or you can use unigine valley/heaven (i personally think heaven is better as it is more demanding)

Am I able to record benchmarks from other games with 3Dmark? Or is it just a one benchmark kind of thing.

I use Unigin Heaven, 3DMark 11 (You can pick up the newer version for cheap on steam) and some games.

The games I use are usually Tomb Raider 2013, Metro: Last Light and Crysis 3.

I prefer to just run actual game benchmarks, either the included benchmark tools (like in batman for example) or just running a specific part of a level and comparing

it isnt a recording software! Think of it as a software that pushes your GPU to the max (It's like running a game but you cant actually play it)

A score will come out at the end which you can compare it with others!.

If you wanna record benchmarks from many games you could use metro last light/crysis 3 etc

However synthetic benchmarks scores are more common as compared to FPS of different games(like crysis 3 etc) as more people are accustomed to comparing their scores of synthetic benchmarks!!

TL:DR = Use synthetic benchmarks such as 3Dmark/Unigine Heaven/ Unigine valley if you wanna compare with others OR use games such as crysis3 (the most demanding game out there IMO) if you wanna find your max OC
