replace the card with something better, a 7850 is like a r9 270x, but cut down and older. ( i think) . get a 970 and watch the frames roll in.

nope, single higher-end gpu over dual lower-end gpus, unless youre at the really high end.

this way you get much better frametimes and less problems with drivers and games supporting your setup.

If your PSU can handle it and your motherboard support it you wont get higher performance for the buck.

actually, a 7850 is an r7 265. the r9 270x is the 7870 Ghz edition.

If you have a good enough PSU and CPU, and you can find one for cheap, go for it.

You're not going to get better performance for ~$70 (about what a used 7850 would go for).

As Linus would always say, better to have one fast single gpu than two slow ones.

This belongs in the Graphics Cards section. I'm moving the thread.

Please post in the correct sub-forum in the future--do not just dump threads into General Discussion.

It isn't really older. The 270x is a rebranded 7870 and the 265 is a rebranded 7850.

personal uneducated opinion* -- crossfire is rubbish, scaling isnt great, obnoxiously loud and power hungry. I have a crossfire set-up and it is not good, save up and get a better card, wish i had.
