I don't really know what I'm looking for, just a wrist rest but for your mouse mat rather than your keyboard. I feel like I'm getting carpal tunnel just from using my mouse half the time. I know the Razer Vespula comes with it below the surface. Any ideas what I'm looking for? I just want a cheaper alternative to the Razer Vespula.

What do you guys use so that your wrist doesn't touch the edge of the desk? Thanks in advance! :)

quit moving your wrist so much, use your whole arm. 400dpi and big mousepad.

I know but I like smooth surface mouse mats. I currently use the Razer Goliathis Medium Speed Edition.

You over-pay for a name brand mouse pad. The ones they sell there are the same, I have both a Wal-Mart Mouse pad and a SteelSeries QCK material isn't different.

Okay so an extended mouse mat might be a better solution? I find that it's from my wrist leaning against the edge of my desk though. However it is more so my forearm.

Really? Tha's actually really good to know. I partially enjoy the design though, but I would only buy one on sale.

Lol, I know it sounds funny but I can't prevent it. I've honestly tried but my wrist just bends against the desk.

then your problem is bad habits not mousepad.  :)

I have tried wrist rests on/with mouse mats/pads in the past and they only ever do two things for me; they make me unconformable and they reduce my ability level by approximately 30%. Think about it; a large bulge pressed against your tendons, compacting them, raising your wrist and deforming your grip. It's extra resistance when your brain has signalled a move and it's disruption when changing grip on the mouse. The result is in milliseconds of lag time; all the difference when it matters in a deathmatch or some other time critical activity.

Ultimately I am of the opinion that these wrist rests are nothing more than snake oil. If you're like me and utilize numerous mouse grip types then they are worse in fact in that they actually work to your detriment.

My own mouse mat has been with me for a large part of my lifetime. It's in fact now over 16 years old and has seen some of the very best and some of the very worst times of my life. It has supported my head as I have slept on it, it has soaked up spilled food and drink, it has been used to slap people, it has enabled me to win countless games, It has been cried on until there were no more tears left, even screamed into... it has travelled with me across the country and back, it has supported my dreams and it has been there for me as I realised them. Recently it's even being used by my oldest daughter as she sits on my lap and I teach her how to move around in games.

It's an Allsop and it is comprised of rubber and cloth, is around 8mm in height and approximately 8" x 6". It is patterned with raindrops and is green. I bought it for around £5 sometime in the late 90's... since then I've never needed to consider anything else nor do I expect that I ever will.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.

If I were the OP, I'd select this as the best answer; Why aren't we funding this?

I've started using my phone as a wrist for my left hand while gaming, it's quite nice. (Samsung Galaxy S3 w/ Otterbox)

I left it screen up once and ended up unlocking it and messing things up.

I turn the phone face-down by habit, which contradicts the LED on the front.  I don't want to press too hard on the screen anyways, compared to the hard shell back.
