I'd choose to have no antivirus

Then install malwarebytes free trial whenever you want to do a scan.

Avast is also another option.

Hey guys. I just finished building my first computer and I need an antivirus program. Could you guys recommend a free antivirus program that I could install? I really appreciate your advice!

AVG + malwarebytes does the trick for me :)

I've always been curious, how do you remove a virus without an antivirus program? I know it's possible but how???

Its very difficult. You will need to know exactly what files are infected, and what registry entries have been affected, and also know what damage the virus has done, and reverse it.

Or, just run malwarebytes ;)

Windows Defender is best imo.

It's doing better job for me.

Also I use Unchecky (for avoiding adwares), also ADWCLEANER.
