Hello!, I'm back for this question. What graphics card/s would I need for gaming at high-ultra on 3k? (3 1080p moniters). Thanks, and have a good day!

yeah but like i said, you better get sli 970/980 depending on the games you wanna play. You will not be able to play Crysis 3 on this resolution on ultra. even some older games might struggle quite a bit. Just look at benchmarks of the games and take a third of the fps they are displaying for 1080p.

yah, two 970's   eventually.... By then amd's 300 seiries will be out when i have the moneyy and can look at them. (sorry for bad spelling, laptop keyboard)

4k is 4x1080p, yes. but in one monitor with a resolution of 3840x2160. 3k is actually 3200x1800 or 2880x1620 (something in between cause it doesnt really exist) so it keeps the 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio.

3 x 1080p portrait is 3240x1920, which is a 1.69 aspect ratio, which is almost halfway between 16:10 and 16:9 ratios; so 3x1080p is close enough to call it 3K, technically... They are separate monitors, but windows doesn't know that lol

Oh, and OP, your plan with the 970 is exactly my plan. The 970 does well with triple 1080p screens. All I do is turn off AA and ambient Occlusion and I get 60fps in BF3 (actually it averages 80 but I use vsync)
