I grew up in detroit, if a kid was that spoiled and we found out we would beat the shit out of him and steal his shit everyday.

*-*

anyways I'm not one of those kids. (im 15 btw) the only time my parents buy me anything is when its clothes, for school, my bday or christmas. I bought my own phone, i pay my phone bill, i payed for every part in my computer. all without an allowance. I work with my mom on sundays cleaning a beauty salon and i do dishes each night :3

I also pay for my video games which playing on a PC isn't difficult with steam sales :}

I hope you're not a parent yet. :P  I'm staying away from having kids for a while O.o but if I ever get any I'll be sure to teach them the value of money xD make the little suckers work for their stuff.

Don't educate your child to be rich, educate him to be happy. So when he grows up he will know the value of things, not the price

Definitely agreed 100%. My family left from a very rich life back in Singapore before I entered kindergarten to move to Canada. For reasons still unknown to me, stuff happened and we went from very rich to just under middle class (mind you, before, my dad used to buy a new car every half a year) Thoughout my years I've learnt to be happy with what I have and now looking back, I'd hate to be like my cousins who got the psp, gameboy, basically anything on release. I never had any portable handheld device until I was 18 when I got my phone. My cousins just know a life where things fall from the sky and that is sad.

I'm 15 and I have the samenthing, and I appreciate my parents to learn me thatmney isn't just something you throw everywhere. We're not poor or anything, but if I want a computer for example, I have to save for it. I know some other people that just get a random 'gaming computer' by asking for it, those people are usually very lazy :p

I used to get a lot of what I wanted when I was very little, I would cry everytime my mother wouldn't get me the $100 dollar lego set. It was a weird twist my my parents divorced and both lost their jobs. We went from middle class to lower. Now that my mother has a job we have just finally paid off all the money we owed to other people for helping us, and my dad thinks he has a job opportunity thinks are looking up. What people have to realize though is that it doesn't matter what you get in life when you are young or how spoiled you are, as long as you are a GOOD person, treat others with RESPECT and are HAPPY . Kindness and being happy with a little dose of compassion will make this world a better place. Start doing it and believe me, it will spread to others as well.

Ok, I grow up in a very wealthy family. My parents got a divorce when i was just one year of age. Both of my parents remarried to  two very wealthy people. My father grow me up the right way and showed me how to work for a living to get everything I wanted, my mom on the other hand spoiled the hell out of me and my two siblings. Since i was taught a wrong way and a right way on how to get stuff in life, I have learned the values of money. I have learned that you appreciate everything you get in life.

Here is my rant, I dislike anyone that thinks they are better then someone else, for what ever reasoning. For an example, I dislike the people that own BMW 328i's or similar vehicles, if you ever pay attention to people, you will see that most of those people get out of their cars with there noises high in the sky, What I think is funny, is if you have ever met someone with a Ferrari or know someone that has one, you will see a whole other side of people, I have never seen a Ferrari guy tell someone "that they can not look or touch their vehicle" but try asking a guy that owns a Corvette, they will tell you "don't you dare look or touch my car, it is the greatest thing on the face of this earth and you can not afford one", and most of them are old farts that after 40 years could finally buy a Corvette LOL. That is just one of many things that are wrong with this world today.

I make a crap load of money and have an outstanding job, in no way shape or form am I any better then the next person and I do not treat people like I am better and beyond them. I was raised to never look down upon anyone that is less fortunate.

Hmm, I'm not one of those kind of guys but I don't think it's the kids fault that their parents are spoiling them.

Live in Indoneisa where 3$ could feed you for a day. Bought a computer myself by saving up for 2 years, where everyone get their fancy stuff the first time I'm going to high school, all I got is my old sony ericsson second hand from my dad.. I could have gone and ask my dad about that, but there is a lot of people suffering here and there and I can't just buy anything I want without any sacrifice.

Yes, I do hate spoiled brat, for that is whats going on with some of my classmate. They go out and take pictures of them holding bags of fancy branded crap, even dining in a 5 stars restaurant.. With "Their own" money and publish it on facebook and instagram like it is some pride to them.

I'm very glad that I got this awesome parents who taught me the right way of how to value every penny that I got..

Actual props to you, teach those kids a lesson. Of course bullying is wrong, but some kids just need it.

The best me and my brother got for gaming, because thats what we mostly wanted to do as kids. Was a rented N64 or PS1 for the weekend if we were good. And that would have been like once every couple of months. Otherwise it was go mow the lawns, or the padocks and earn some cash from dad.

Played outside a lot, walking around in peoples padocks or building ramps and riding our bicycles off them. I dislike "bratty kids" but at the same time I have to laugh at them a bit. They generally dont understand what its like to not have anything, or to have to work for something which will put them at a disadvantage at some stage in their life, Unless they are really loaded in which case ill probably never have to deal with them.

My parents would find a way to get around my nasty nagging for stuff when I was a kid, when I wanted a phone because most of my cousins had phones at the time, my parents didn't get me a brand new one they got me a much cheaper one that was also used, (i was a kid back then so i didn't even know the difference, you know how kids are i just wanted a phone)

They would do that for everything except if it was a special occasion, like when I passed 6th grade (which is the last grade of elementary school here) they got me a brand new laptop i loved that thing more than myself (it had windows Vista and i was tired of XP at the time so i absolutely loved it).
(if anyone's wondering, this is the laptop they got me )

Oh and I got the original XBOX from my uncle, poor thing he didn't even care for it he was like if you want it just take it, the bag is over there put it in the bag and take it. Lol.
Now though I have to save up if i want anything, which kinda sucks xd : )
p.s I'm 18.
