best Anti-Aliasing for 1600x900 monitor?

I just bought a new monitor guys, the resolution is 1600x900 (20 inches)... I just want to ask you guys what is the best Anti-Aliasing on this Monitor? I heard that you don't have to put Anti-Aliasing in 1080p?

You need Anti Aliasing at any resolution (except maybe 4k where you can get away with lower amounts)

 

You should run as much AA as you can before it starts degrading performance

Is there a reason you bought a 1600x900 monitor in 2014? lol I'm going to assume your other parts in your system are low end so I doubt you can even enable AA .. I use the max AA in every game when possible. I hate jaggies.

ya, the jaggies.. I think 4xAA is enough to get rid it? what do you think?

What you're referring to is pixel density. More pixels crammed into a smaller space makes aliased edges much harder to see. It's not a matter of resolution alone, but resolution within a certain space (in inches). Most 4K (3840x2160) computer monitors at 28–30 inches need very little if any anti-aliasing. 1080p monitors in common sizes definitely still benefit from anti-aliasing, but a 5.5" 1080p smartphone with microscopic pixels wouldn't need it.

 

We really can't say what's "best" for your monitor because anti-aliasing is so game-dependent. Not all games implement it the same way, or give you the same options. Just use what looks good to you while still happy with your performance.

just try it out yourself, enable AA and looks at that monitor

Getting rid of jaggies is going to require smaller jaggies I'm afraid. What are your specs ?
