Hello!

So I've run into an issue that I've been researching for, and can't seem to find a solution that works.

I've recently acquired an AMD Radeon R9 270x. Even more recently, I've acquired an Acer H236HL which I'd like to have as my 3rd monitor. So here is my setup as a whole:

Monitors:

  • Acer H236HL
    • HDMI // DVI // VGA
  • Acer X223W
    • DVI // VGA
  • Samsung TV (model escapes me, it was a hand-me-down)
    • HDMI

GPU:

  • HDMI // DVI x2 // DisplayPort

I understand that I need DisplayPort for the Eyefinity...thing (or an Active DP adapter). But I don't want that, neither does my setup allow for it (my TV sits lower than the 2 monitors). Is it at all possible to have 3 monitors? I've read on a few forums that its possible with DVI/DVI/HDMI. Just not for me. I've tried this, this, and almost every combination imaginable. Help me, internet. You're my only hope.

So... what exactly is the issue you're having? is one of the monitors not displaying video or something?

Damn...my apologies.

When trying to extend the desktop to the 3rd monitor, I get the error: "The display settings could not be saved. Please try a different combination of display settings" So the 3rd monitor can only be disconnected.

I'm at work right now, and my computer is off so I can't remote in. But a quick Google found the exact error:

You can only use 2 of the 3 outputs: (dvi, dvi, hdmi) at the same time. Use displayport for the 3rd display.

And this goes for both with and without Eyefinity?
