Just curious as to what forum members use as a microphone, considering it seems most people on here are headphonephiles.

I myself personally use a Blue Snowball iCE. It's basically a snowball without the second mic on the back and a cheaper stand, got it for $65. I have it mounted on a boom mic stand.

So what mic do you use?

What do you have it mounted to?

And if it is XLR what is the interface you use?

I'm waiting for my 3d printer to make a proper stand. I'm using styrofoam from my fractal r4 case currently.

Will work for electronic components and parts

The microphone in my Logitech C905 webcam. Sounds crystal clear according to people who I Skype with. They seem to hear noises in my house or outside that even I struggle to hear.

I use the mic on the Sennheiser PC360 G4ME and it sounds really clear and realistic but I want a more professional mic.

Do the condenser capsules (Blue Yeti) record all the noise in my environment? I live near some "idiots" (sorry but they have an IQ of 90), who are driving tractor all day long, I got 2 dogs, who yell often and i got a mechanical keyboard. So does it record all this loud that people in skype hate me?

Greetings

Helge

The Blue Yeti picks up quite a bit of background noise depending on how you have it set up. I would get a RODE Podcaster or the XLR variant of the microphone, another good choice is a Blue Spark or a Audio Technica AT 2020. I know one of my favorite commentators uses a RODE Podcaster/Procaster.
