Get ready for a flame war over which manufacturer is better xD

I prefer Intel because of what you get for the price. you might be dropping over $200 for a good i5, but CPU horsepower is worth it.

in the end it's up to the features you want and how much you're willing to pay for it. An Intel i5 for gaming is still pretty good right now, but the i7's hyperthreading might be something you want if you do lots of multitasking.

Is this where I go to watch the battle? *grabs popcorn*

It depends on what kind of system you want to build. I mainly suggest amd for budget builds since the price/performance ratio is better than intel.

I'm here with a freshly-popped bag of popcorn waiting for all hell to break loose :P

which one works better with intel?

radeon or nvidia?

Both work equally well. But AMD is better price/performance.

i might be able to throw a little more money in it is this a better build?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hwzJRB

The one I suggested is still the best starting point.

If you can throw more money in, then get a better ssd, an R9 290, a 750w PSU, a better motherboard (capable of support XFIRE), THEN a better case.
