horrible battery on android?

Go to solution Solved by dizmo,

Is it the battery that came with the phone? If so, it might be time to buy a new one. It's getting pretty old, and batteries only last so long.

S3 wasn't the greatest and the original battery was shitty.

My friend replaced his original battery and gained like 30% more life. But it still doesn't live very long.

This has people reporting it's better than the original too.

Did you just install CM, or mess around with the ROM's/Kernals and then notice significant battery drop? If not, you can look into another kernal.

Just the stock cm kernel. Didn't do any screwing around with performance settings.

The S3 had a bunch of warranty issues due to the battery, it actually turned away a bunch of customers from their newer galaxy phones. If you want better battery life you should change phones.

Not really possible at this point time.

I find it annoying that the title says android instead of Samsung galaxy s3.

Ot: the battery is old. Replacing it with a new one is pretty much the only fix.

Well Android isn't known for it's brilliant use of resources, it just so happens that the S3 in question also has a shitty battery.  Frankly, there must be something Samsung does that just breaks their old phones.  Because both of my parents had a Note 3, and a couple months before the Note 4 came out they started getting some severe battery problems...I mean their phones couldn't even last as long as my Nexus 5, which has a crappy battery if SOT is high.
