Hello Everyone!

I was interested in finding out what different members of the Linus Tech Tips community do for a living. So tell me, what is it that you do? Why do you like it and what brought you to enjoy Linus Tech Tips?

I'm a professional college student, working retail part time on the side. I'm studying Digital Media with an emphasis on gaming and animation right now, though because of my passion for tech, computers and advancing technology, I'm considering changing my major to computer and electrical engineering. I like Linus Tech Tips because learning about different components and how they work interests me, and it's an easy and enjoyable way to be introduced to something I know little about rather than looking it up and studying it or reading about it myself. (which of course I do as well most of the time)

My job is not tech related.

I process shipments for my employer through couriers such as FedEx, UPS, and the USPS.

PC building and tinkering is just something I do because I find it fun.

Who makes gpus, cups and stuff? I mean what kind of engineers?

Well it depends. Electrical and computer engineers are both involved in the process. It's not necessarily about what kind because it's less of a title and more of just a general skill set.

No shame in being a hobbyist, or an enthusiast. I'm interested in a tech related career and many hobbyists probably have more knowledge of computers than I do.

I wonder if mechatronic engineers can make them.

It's very possible. Though since those components don't consist of moving parts, the mechanical side of mechatronics wouldn't necessarily be used. If you wanted to expand your scope of what you can do though, rather than be limited to computers, mechatronics could be a really cool way to do that.
