If you're paying $2700 you should get a 4790k. The fps difference right now is only a few percent, but it will likely be greater in the future and that will probably be one of the last major components to be replaced.

Also, he's getting it from Microcenter so it's super cheap.

The only bottleneck I see there is the case... damn! the painting and internals on that one are just not up to the par.
